Leadership for the Church-in-Mission

Conference Wrap-up | Leadership for the Church in Mission

With more than 500 in attendance Nov. 17, 2011, Prof. N.T. Wright delivered two keynote addresses on the challenges and opportunities for mission in today's culture.  Perhaps the most heartening aspect of the day was the broad representation of denominational and church backgrounds among those who attended - Reformed Church in America, Christian Reformed Church, Acts 29, Presbyterian Church (USA), Presbyterian Church in America, Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Assemblies of God, Evangelical Covenant, Evangelical Free, Anglican, Episcopal, Roman Catholic, Lutherans, Baptists, Emergent, Vineyard, Non-Denominational, and more.  Distinguished panelists responded to Wright's lectures, providing a dynamic conversation around Wright's key ideas.

On Day Two, Fred Harrell (Senior Pastor, City Church San Francisco) delivered a keynote on Creating a Culture of the Gospel.  Mike Hayes and Wes Granberg-Michaelson (former General Secretary of the Reformed Church in America) led a conversation in Creating Missional Change in Organizations.  Afternoon breakout sessions included conversations on church planting, spiritual formation, church revitalization, justice ministry, faith and work, and more.

Stay tuned for information about next year's conference!
